Hip joint replacement

Hip joint

replacement

Hip replacement surgery is a procedure in which a doctor surgically removes a painful hip joint with arthritis/injury and replaces it with an artificial joint. It usually is done when all other treatment options have failed to provide adequate pain relief. The procedure should relieve a painful hip joint, making walking easier.

Care?

Post a Hip replacement surgery, it is crucial to restore mobility, get back the complete range of motion and strength. Physical therapy plays an important role in the rehab process. Our therapists will design a program that may include Ankle pumps, ankle rotations and knee bends apart from other routine ones.

Other elements that help in the rehabilitation include pain medication, therapeutic exercise, regular stretching, weight management and use of walking aids, like a cane.

In some cases, a drainage tube will likely be placed in your bladder to help you go to the bathroom. During the early period of recovery, you will also require a supervised nursing care especially to avoid infections of the wound.
