Position Summary
The Maintenance Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the upkeep and functionality of the healthcare facility’s infrastructure and systems. This includes equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, safety compliance, and coordination with various departments. The technician ensures minimal downtime of critical systems and supports a safe, comfortable, and efficient environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
Core Responsibilities
- Equipment Maintenance
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance of all critical and non-critical equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment issues promptly to ensure uninterrupted services.
- HVAC Systems
- Maintain and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
- Monitor room temperature and humidity to ensure patient comfort and safety.
- Electrical Systems
- Inspect, repair, and maintain electrical components, including lighting, power supply, and emergency generators.
- Address electrical faults to avoid hazards and operational disruptions.
- Plumbing Systems
- Carry out regular checks and repairs of plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, and water heaters.
- Ensure timely resolution of plumbing issues to maintain hygiene and functionality.
- Building Maintenance
- Inspect structural components (walls, ceilings, floors, doors, and windows) and address damages.
- Coordinate with other departments for renovations, refurbishments, or minor civil works.
- Safety & Compliance
- Adhere to safety protocols while performing maintenance tasks, especially in sensitive areas.
- Participate in mock drills and emergency response preparedness.
- Record Keeping
- Maintain logs of inspections, repairs, and scheduled maintenance.
- Track inventory of tools, spare parts, and maintenance supplies.
- Cross-Department Coordination
- Work closely with all departments to ensure maintenance activities do not interrupt patient care.
- Respond quickly and efficiently to maintenance requests.
- Training & Development
- Stay updated with industry best practices and technological upgrades in facility maintenance.
- Support staff training on safe equipment handling when required.
- Emergency Response
- Be available for on-call support during emergencies outside of standard working hours.
- Provide timely resolution to avoid operational disruption during critical situations.
